Indonesia's Multiple Religions.

There are 6 main religions in Indonesia that the government chooses to recognize which are, Hinduism, Islam, Protestantism, Catholicism, Buddhism, Confucianism.
The most popular religion in Indonesia is Islam with 80% of Indonesia's population beleiving in this religion  (INFO 2010). Christianity is the second most popular coming in at 9.87% and third most popular is Hinduism at 1.69% and Fourth is Buddhism at 0.72% and Last is confucianism and the other 245 non official religions are at 0.56%

Indonesia's political leadership has played an important role in the relations between groups, both positively and negatively, promoting mutual respect by affirming Pancasila but also promoting a Transmigration Program, which has caused a number of conflicts in the eastern region of the country.

Thousands of the Indonesian Muslims congregrated during Eid ul Fitr mass prayer in Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, the largest in Southeast Asia. Indonesia has the world largest Muslim population.
